A collaborative songwriting project focusing on environmental and social justice issues, This Land was produced by Philadelphia folk singer Joshua Marcus in cooperation with various community action groups in the eastern United States.
In the tradition of Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, Joshua Marcus has arranged and recorded seven folk ballads for the present day. With topics like mountaintop removal mining and toxic river pollution, This Land explores and informs on the conditions that face many people in this country.
All proceeds of This Land will go back to fund the grassroots organizing of the participating groups.
